Just as the disciples, on the road to Emmaus, felt downcast and dejected, heart broken and fearful from the events of Jesus' passion and crucifixion, so we experience the same kinds of feelings in our life journey. Yet, in the uncertainty of the news about the resurrection of Jesus, the Lord appeared to the two disciples and they came to know him in the breaking of the bread. The mission of The Emmaus Center is assisting others on their journey of life, especially during times of hurt, spiritual discouragement, psychological distress and relational instability. It is Jesus who is the Divine Healer and the counseling team of The Emmaus Center seeks to break open God's healing love by assisting clients to come to recognize the healing presence of God in their lives.
